Join the conversation on how to achieve a new level of what it means to live authentic, transparent lives chasing after Jesus.
The Discipleship Project is designed to start a conversation and embrace a community of people to help both church and parent achieve a new level of what it means to have authentic, transparent lives chasing after Jesus.
It’s time we raised the bar and set new expectations for ourselves and families–nothing short of being the people He has called us to be. We need to take the initiative and become the change we want to see.
Jesus told us to, “first seek the kingdom…” That command requires us to be intentional, bold and courageous in our faith. We must be willing to take risks and challenge the status quo and do whatever is necessary to bring glory to God.
And pass that drive on to our kids.
The Apostle Peter reminded us to “always be prepared to give an answer…” Preparation requires education and the ability to see the world with Jesus at the center and to respond accordingly. We must be aware of the current events, culture, and society in which we live so that we can be prepared to give an answer faithful to the Gospel.
We must also be able to explain why our faith matters and why it should be shared. This requires us to be knowledgeable and able to articulate our beliefs in a way that is meaningful and relevant to others. We must also be open to dialogue and willing to answer any questions or objections that are raised.
God has uniquely placed you in your family, your church, your job, neighborhood, and circle of friends. All of it to make an impact. All of it to live a missional life–making your faith known. What should that look like? How do we leverage our place in life for God’s missional mandate to go and make disciples? How do we take on our 21st century darkeness and be the light? How do we take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ?
We cannot compromise truth.
The Apostle Peter told us to, “Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.”
We cannot teach what we don’t live out in our own lives. We must embody the truth of the gospel in our lives if we have any hope in our kids catching that same truth for their lives.
It is our mission to partner with both church and family to provide the resources and the transparent community you need to prepare your kids for the world that awaits them.
It takes work. Grit. And plenty of perseverance.
We don’t offer another program, a book, a sermon, or Bible study that promises a better self by Friday. Why? Because they don’t work. Instead, we help you and church take advantage of everyday life–what we call the mundane nonsense–and find the teachable moments.
That’s hard to do. But we are here to help.
Free Courses: Simple tips, ideas, strategy, and full on biblical lessons that help connect youth culture and a biblical worldview.
Podcast: We spend anywhere from 10-20 minutes talking about the intersection of theology and mental health as the new apologetic frontier.
Parent guides: Culture is changing faster than we old people can keep up with. We have simple easy-to-follow guides that not only help you understand your kids’ native cultural language, but the tools needed to have an important conversation.
The conversation: As always, you can count on us to provide you with an ongoing conversation around teen mental health, biblical topics, culture, movie and book reviews through social media and Steve’s blog.
We get one shot to live this life to full. One shot to be the people God has called us to. One shot to raise our kids to know and love Him. One shot to make the most of all of it.
